DoubleDutch kicked off its first European trade show of the year at International Confex, an event that connects #eventprofs with innovative products, services, and destinations.
Team DoubleDutch UK hopped across town to the Olympia Conference Centre, a venue whose beautiful glass ceiling made the full two-day event a lovely beacon of light for those of us #eventprofs used to windowless convention centers. While the London rain let up during the conference, the crowds were in full force ready to talk #eventtech.
The theme of this year’s event was the the Ideas Factory with the goal of empowering attendees to create original events, and drive innovation and professional success. This was noticeable from the event’s content to the products on the show floor.
At the DoubleDutch stand, we welcomed many #eventprofs to discuss how a mobile app can demonstrate ROI not only through an engaging attendee experience but also by leveraging data to make smarter planning decisions.
Our very own Alex Feehely, Event Technologist at DoubleDutch, shared this message on stage during the session “Leveraging Data and Big Data – the secrets to success.” He joined panelists to discuss how data can be accessible and useful for event profs to monitor and measure event success.
On top of that, Alex helped evangelize the growing importance of data-driven eventprofs within organizations: “Event planners can become strategic partners in their organization by understanding that data leads to info, which leads to knowledge, which leads to wisdom!”
Finally, in true DoubleDutch fashion, we had fun with booth visitors through a Willy Wonka-inspired contest. Finding the golden ticket hidden in chocolate bars rewarded one lucky recipient with an adventure worthy of Mr. Wonka. Although we couldn’t locate a flying glass elevator (we tried), the winner received the next best thing, a helicopter tour of London. Congratulations to Bettina Greiner of the marcus evans Group! She got a Golden Ticket!
Thank you to all who visited us at International Confex! We’re hoping over to continental Europe next for IMEX in Frankfurt. We hope to see you there!
