I am so happy to announce that I am joining the DoubleDutch team as as Senior Director of Channel. In this role, I’ll be building out the company’s global Channel strategy, managing the fast-growing Channel team and overseeing all DoubleDutch strategic partnerships.
So.. What’s a Channel Partnership?
Now, in case you were wondering, a channel partnership is (thank you Wikipedia): When a company partners with a manufacturer or producer to market and sell the manufacturer’s products, services, or technologies. This is usually done through a co-branding relationship.
So for DoubleDutch, this means that we partner with companies that manage multiple events for other companies. Our partners then help match those companies with a branded mobile app powered by DoubleDutch.
One Role, Many Hats
This is a particularly exciting role for me considering my background: I actually am joining DoubleDutch after working as the Director of American Express Meetings and Events, APAC (Asia Pacific). While I was there, I led all meetings initiatives for APAC, building the American Express Meetings and Events regional strategy from the ground up. I’m hoping to lead a similar push at DoubleDutch, as we continue to build our international Channel strategy.
I also “get” what our customers are going through when they are looking for a mobile event app provider. Having been on the event organizer side of the discussion, I understand the thought process and a lot of the pain points our target audience has. This allows me to approach discussions with our Channel partners wearing two hats; my DoubleDutch hat, and my event professional hat.
This approach will be important as I really sink my teeth into my new role. My hope is that I will be able to help our Channel partners marry the more traditional world of meetings and events with the right technology to streamline and improve the experience and outcomes for all stakeholders involved.
DoubleDutch is really transforming the way meetings and events professionals do business, and we have a huge opportunity to add a new, innovative digital dimension to events at a global scale. I can’t wait to get things moving.
